[edit] Apple Japan Update

1. Apple has launched a Back to School Campaign which will allow International School families to purchase directly at the retail stores with a invitation they can print and bring to any of the Japan Apple Stores. Please send an e-mail to Michael Geffon michael.geffon@asia.apple.com if you would like families to go directly to the retail store or if you would like to organize orders within the school contact Yoshihiro Sakagami yoshihiro.sakagami@asia.apple.com

2. Site License for iLife & iWork tutorials has also become available. Another positive step towards providing additional individual PD opportunities for our communities. Please contact Apple for more information.

3. Our discussions at the previous Summit have placed the Apple Care team in a position to look again at what they can offer for schools. They are now offering GSX which allows an IT person (needs to be an Apple certificated) to make a simple repair request after their own trouble shooting. Should be a big timesaver. Contact Makoto at makoto.nishihata@asia.apple.com to receive more information!

Other Things

ACOT2 (Apple Think Tank Project) An interesting project which has been fun to be involved with during the past year. The next stage is spreading the word…http://edcommunity.apple.com/acot2/

Apple Distinguished Educators (ADE) http://edcommunity.apple.com/ali/story.php?itemID=9671

The time has also arrived to start focusing on expanding an ADE program for International Schools as well. Might be a productive conversation during the Summit.
